Warcraft III not running

Maybe someone can help me? I cannot get Warcraft III to run at all. I always get the error now "Please make sure your warcraft III cd is in the CD drive..." however it is. I have tried reinstalling, patching, buying the expansion, deleting known software conflicts, and even emailing the people at blizzard to help me out. I tried to create an analysis file, but when i right click on any .exe file on my computer, it does a silent crash and goes back to the desktop, not even an error messege. Anyone know how I can solve this before I just reformat everything?

Are you putting the CD in the same drive you installed the game from?

War Craft III has something on its origanal cd that lets you copy the entire game. It will install fine, but you won't be able to play form a copied cd. If it is the origanl CD try to take it back and get a new one. Some discs are jsut bad disks.

I've already tried buying new disks. I even have the expansion. I only use the original cd.

what are your specs on your computer you might have a hardware issue. Do you have the minimum requirments to run the game? Does the game install on anyother computer? Could also be that ther is something wrong with the optical drive make sure all if its drivers are updated and most of all, cause ive run into this problem befor, make sure the drive is plugged into the psu. Had a customer once that wanted to replace the oprtical drive cause it was telling him that the drive needed to have a cd in it. I opened up the case and sure enough the ide cable was pluged in but the psu cable had josteled loose.

I would try another CD-ROM drive, just for the heck of it.

Maybe the drive requires cleaning?
