Do you use Steam now with all the updates?

Steam (CS 1.6) was a piece of garbage when it first came out back in September. But now that Valve has released weekly updates ever since do you still prefer WON or have you switched to Steam?

I switched. It was well worth it. I went back once and played a 1.5, Non-Steam game and the lag was unbearable. Steam's improved netcode and messaging system are very nice to use. IMHO, anyone who refuses Steam now, clearly has never tried it.

I still use WON, it seems that Steam is really slow if you don't have a P4. You shouldn't have huge system requirments for a 5 year old game.

Steam isn't going to be used just for Counter-Strike or DoD. All valve games (ex: HL2) will use the steam platform to play online. I love steam and it runs fast a smooth for me.

steam

i'm a big fan of steam i must admit. The friends thing should be able to send messages i feel, but the usability is good, and performance is very good.

i sometimes get disconnected on a map change on CS, but recently this has happened a lot less.

overall i like

You can send messages. Just double click the persons name and type away, its just like AIM or MSN messenger.

Well, it looks like Steam is doing alot better then it was two months ago. I still prefer WON for LAN parties though, just because it's easier to do mass installations.
