Hardware Preformance BenchMark

Hey everyone,

I've have just finished building my new computer, but since it is my first time I am unconfident as to whether I did everything right. Everything seems ok (Windows installed, graphics work, sound works, no errors so far...), but is there a program or something that can guage how my hardware is preforming? Like a benchmark comparision test or something?

I always liked Sisoft Sandra . But you can also use pcmark, or pcpitstop.

Futuremark Programs are nice (3dMark01, 3dMark03, PCMark02, and PCMark04), because they give you resuluts that you can compare on on their website with similar specs or totally different specs to see hwo your rig compares to other. Sandra has a self comparison type thing, which you pick which 'pre-set' systems you want to compare it to, so I don't think it is as good. If you want to test graphics you can also try Aquamark.

I personally prefer the futuremark benchmarks.

Well if everything works then I guess you did everything right! Fire up your favorite game, increase the graphics a little, and have fun. Congrads.

graphics - 3DMark2001, 3DMark03, Aquamark3

system - PCMark02, PCMark04, SiSoft Sandra.

These should tell you whether your system is running to its full potential, well, post your results on this board and everyone will be able to tell you if thats a good score or not.

My PCMark2002 score,

CPU- 7497
Mem- 9457
Hdd- 1254

I am running p4 3.0 ghz with 1024 mb corsair ram on a Asus p4c800-e dlx mobo. My hdd is a 120gb SATA not running RAID.

I can't seem to finnish the benchmark test with SANDRA, it always finishes unsuccessfully.

How are my results for PCmark?

btw, my Aquamark3 score was 43,000 or so, hows that for an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro?
