Microsoft Sidewinder Pad

Its suppost to be plug & play with windown XP, but its not on my pc!! ive tried everything to get it to work but get the following error;
YOUR GAMEPORT OR GAMEPORT DRIVES ARE NOT PROPERLY CONFIGURED. PLEASE CONSULT THE DEVICE MANAGER

I check the device manager an all seems in order??

Somebody somewhere must know how to get round this or fix it as I cannot play games no more

What have you done so far? I have a Sidewinder pad and had no troubles installing, but you need to add it in Game Controllers (under Control Panel) first. Just click Add... and select Microsoft Sidewinder
