Silent Storm

I just downloaded the demo of Silent Storm. Although I discovered that it is not really my type of game I also discovered that it had abysmal performance on my system that it should have. The graphics aren't that great. With everything on high the textures were blury and the environments not that detailed. Call of Duty is definetly more demanding. However, the performance was agonizingly slow. The mouse lagged by almost a second and it was so jerky it was unplayable. I turned the graphics down and it didn't do much except make it look worse while still going slow. I don't get it. My PC should be able to run a game like this.

Here are my system specs

ASUS A7V333 Mother Board
AMD Athlon XP 1.8ghz CPU
512mb 333mhz DDR RAM
60 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive
6GB 5200 RPM Hard Drive
GeForce 4 ti 4800se 128mb Graphics Card
Plextor 24/10/40x CDRW
Pioneer 16x DVD-ROM
Windows XP Home Edition
Cable Modem
C-Media onboard sound
Logitech Z-640 Speakers
Enlight 360 Watt Power Supply

This is a brand new game. I'm not even sure if it is out yet. I was not playing online.

Chipset drivers and video drivers are up to date? Disk defragged? Do you have a lot of background programs running?
