Possible suspect of HL2 gets a wakeup call by the FBI

Quote:
Chris Toshok's blog talks about how the FBI came into his home here very recently and seized some of his computers. From the warrant pages 4 and 5, it seems as though they think he is affiliated with theft of the Half Life 2 engine. Be cautious at work as there is a bit of colorful language. Thanks Thomas.

I was questioned by the FBI agent in charge and a Secret Service agent at length about the Hungry Programmers, people I used to live with, whether particular people had the capacity/knowledge to do what they were investigating, etc. During the questioning she says "Now we're going to take all your computers." She sees the look on my face and says "Yeah, this is going to be hard for you." I said "uh, when will I get them back?" She said it depends, that they'd try to have them all back as soon as possible, but it depends on if they find anything suspicious on them. If they found contraband, that particular computer would never be coming home.

That sucks. They just come in and take all of your computers? I dispise the gov't now, at least compensate him.

look, if he wasn't doing anything illegal, then he gets them back..
and if he wasn't affiliated with people (the Hungry Programmers) that were up to no good, they would have never taken them in the first place.

however, it does suck, and they probably shouldn't leave him without a computer, particularly if he relys on one for work.

but you control your own fate.. the gov't isn't breaking down doors of random innocent people and taking their computers.

He just lived with them a while ago. He doesn't live with them now and he wasn't a programmer for them, at least from the blurb. So now b/c he knew hackers he now has no computers. They could always ask him with possibility of a reward for credible information.
