Running a dedicated server?

I was wondering if u run a dedicated server for a game called counter-strike does it matter if u have dual proccessors or not.
cuz i heard only dual works in some programs and stuff? so would i be better of just to upgrade to a better proccesor or stick with dual proccesors?

thanks,

dedicated doesn't really matter much... you can have a godlike computer and a cable connection and still havea a laggy server... fiber lines are better for hosting servers...

When some of my friends come over I use my old Gateway with a 800 celeron to host a little Lan game with 4-6 people. lol it never lags! Yeah, to host a good CS server you need more than a cable connection.

Cable servers usualy suxor. Cable doesn't duplex like dsl does. Packet delay and whatnot and so on and the like is common on cable servers.
