Doom 3 Vs. Half Life 2
Who do you think will become the king of the next generation shooters Doom 3 or Half-Life 2. I sceptically vote for Half-Life 2 (maybe it'll be released someday).

I never really played half life.. but boy o boy do I remember playing the original Doom back on my P1-166! |

I remember playing Doom 2 on my Dad's 486-33! We bought that computer right before the Pentiums came out (doh!). I can't wait for Doom 3!

Doom3 is supposed to be scary. It's been awhile since I've played a scary game. My vote goes to D3.

if your asking witch one i wil like best, i can't tell you, since i haven't seen either of them yet, and i will reserve judgement till i do ( i really liked both predecesors, but i'm not realy into FPS)
as to witch one will be the most popular? i think it will depend on witch one comes out first. |

I played CS and I loved Half Life but all that bologna that Valve has been doing to delay the game is really getting me angry. I voted Doom 3 because once I heard HL2 was delayed again my dreams were crushed and I dont really care aboot the game now.

Don't know which one will become the king, but I hope that Doom 3 will be the one, the way Valve keeps pushing the release date is enough to piss me off.

I've always been a big DooM fan! Very "scary" when it was the hot new game on the block. I hope that Doom 3 is also scary

I'd have to go with............... oh forget it, I'm tired of waiting. Given that these games have been in production for the last eon- it could be that the graphics will be already out of date when they come out. Remember Diablo 2?

I would usually get physically sick after playing DOOm for like 2 hours in a row, dont know why. Keeps you busy when 20 monsters are attacking you.

Movement sickness perhaps. Some ppl are very susceptible to it.
As for HL2 and D3, my biggest fear isn't that they come out, but that they don't live up to the expectations. If they don't... hmm, I don't wanna imagine.

Well Doom 3 has been in production for 4 years, Half-Life 2 has been on and off of production for 5 years. I hope they both live up to thier expectations.
I'm actually thinking Doom 3 will do really well, as long as the system requirments aren't to high. |

I don't know DC is a lot of fun. I also like the fact that everything is more fast paced......like all the vehicles are faster and what not....in BF1942 it seems like everything is so slow, simply because compared to DC all the vehicles are 50 years slow.......lol....if that makes any sense.

i havent even beaten hl yet. on doom, i remember the blocky graphics and the shriek of those giant brown turds, all on a 166mhz p2.

When people hype games up too much (even for Doom 3 and HL2) then when it doesn't match the hype it ends up being a disapointment. IMO both games could be a disapointment since everyones raving about them espeically HL2 with the delays.
Ill predict that Doom 3 will have the better SP and HL2 possibly the better MP (Excluding mods). I say HL2 because I really don't like the idea of a 4 player free for all multiplayer on Doom 3, it just seems like they wanna carry on the Doom tradition and not modify it for the better. |
