back up copies help

I lost my original copy of Max payne and my I found my back up copy and i everytime i try installing it it gives me the cyclic redundacy check error and yeah the back up is the an exact copy besides the no cd crack for eas of play how do i Shut off the Cyclic redundancy check or get around it.

How do you lose the original copy? but still have the back up copy? That has never happened to me and I've bought many games.

That most likely means that there were problems with the burning process. I had the same problem with some Data CD's I made awhile back.

Extension info

I had run the back up copy after i burned it with win iso on a win me and winxp trial machine and had no problems just with this copy the full version xp on my computer legal version factory style
All i get is the CRC Error and it bugs me i dont remember where i stash my original cuz i wanted to keep it for save keeping but now i can't find it
o well

any info is appreciated thanx
