Final Fantasy XI online
I was THINKING about getting this game. I am not real big on paying monthly fees to play a game so i was wondering if any1 has played it...is it worth 10 bucks a month.

I beta tested it and I thought it was good at first but i got bored with it within 2 weeks. I dont think I would pay to play it unless I had friends that had it to meet up with. Its pretty much like a dumb-downed Everquest (PC not PS2, FFXI is much better than PS2 Everquest IMO). If you like FF games and like MMORPGs and have friends that are getting it, it could be worth it. And really $10 a month isnt all that much, heck my last gas bill was $170 last month, darn winter.

Any game that you have to pay for in order to play after you initially buy it isn't worth it at all. Kinda like someone stealing your slice of cake and eating it right in front of you.

well if its online its gonna have fees for server maintenance and updates, and if youve ever played an online game you know you need server maintenance or its a laggy glitchy mess. Plus online games like this are constantly changing since your playing with millions of other players, not like an offline game where its the same every time you play and the npc's always say the same things. Its always a changing new experience thats why people play evercrack for hundreds of hours and games like Star Wars:KTOR for 50 hours. Thats where the pay to play comes in.

UT, Halo, CS, etc. They are all free to play online and are constantly changing.

I played it for 3 weeks of the trial month and quite after that. I thought it was great but I didnt really have any friends who played it, and it started to take like an hour or two to find a darn party to quest or level with. I bet it could be great it you had like 5 friends that played just as much as you would though.

It's a good game for awhile. It'd be better if you could play offline like the Diablo games then go online and play. I used up all my trial just trying to get a samurai job class because no one wanted to play. Is there even an ending to online RPGs or do they just keeping going on forever?
