How do you find the ip of your server?

Hey,

I'm in a call of duty clan and we're trying to set up our own server to play on. One guy in the group is running the game on a spare pc, but when he goes to look for it in the call of duty multiplayer server list, he cannot find it. I can find it though. How can he find the ip of his server so he can just type it in and connect directly to it?

Alright...I've found my server ip, but nobody is able to connect to it now, except me. I know how to directly connect to an ip in call of duty. You have to enter it into the coding and it works. But when anyone else in the clan tries to connect, it times out and says they can't. Coud this be my router? Someone else in the group made his own server and I can connect to it, it even appears in the list of servers, but it won't allow him to connect to it for some reason. My server does not appear in the list and is not allowing people to connect to it. This is all redundent I know, but I'm in a hurry. Thanks.

If you're using the 192.168.x.x range behind a router, you will need to make the server's IP static and in the router, forward the ports in the router that are needed to allow players to access the server from outside the router. It looks like the rage of ports COD uses is 28960-28970.

I've never worked with a router before, could you explain to me in steps what to do. I also have a problem logging into the router. I'll put the number 192.168.1.1 into the browser address bar and the router log in appears, but it wont accept anything i give it. I try adm for both username and password, but nothing works. I dont remember changing it from the default. All my network stuff is linksys.
