BF1942 troubles on 9800

I downloaded the demo version of BF1942 from download.com to see the difference with my new system but it's not working it shows the "loading wake island" screen and afterwards it shows a blank screen, closes, and gives me a "send error for ATI dialog". What could be causing this? CS works fine.

My system;

P4 2.4 FSB800
512MB PC3200 Crucial
ASUS SIS 648FX
ATI 9800pro

Downloaded the latest drivers from ati..

Thanks,

Check your BIOS, what's the temp on your CPU? Also, you said this is a new system, is it a fresh install? What OS?
