Steam
Steam tried updating yesterday and finally did after I reinstalled it. NOw with this new offline crap it is starting up with windowws. I disabled that and try to open steam manuely. It's trying to update again and then says it can't connect do to no internet connection. My computer is always online and I can get to the internet. Anyone else having problems with STEAM. Will an uninstall and reinstall work?

Steam completly relies on the internet (you have to have a connection in order to run it properly). I just use the older WON multiplayer system to get by all of that.

Hmmm, do you have any firewalls or proxy servers configured? Also does the new update allow you to have LAN games offline?

I got it all to work. I already beat half- life and Blue Shift so theres not much offline gaming that I would do. If any one plays with it let me know what it does
