Call of Duty Problems

I am experiencing sever graphic corruption in call of duty:

The textures are bleeding together..

I'm an ATI Radeon 9600pro
with the Catalyst 4.1 drivers
Asus A7N8X deluxe
Athlon XP 2800+
512 PC2100 Crucial
WD 120GB w/ 8MB cache
onboard sound

I have the latest drivers for everything except the Graphics card because CoD won't even run with the 4.2's.. it keeps locking up a few seconds into the game.
any ideas?

I didn't start getting this problem until the 3rd or 4th levels.. I'm not sure what I changed, if anything.

Do you have the latest DirectX?

Any way you can put default settings on the game, so you can see if anything has changed?

Maybe your Graphics card is overheating it causes distortion like that if it is, check the temps of your Case and harware, and if there high stick another Fan on the case

my temps are OK, about 42c for the cpu, and about 30 for case..
I do have the latest DX installed
I should mention that I RMA'd a card to ATI for a faulty fan, and got a replacement card.. but I didn't have the game with my old card. also, with hte new card I am having problems with games being jerky, like NFSU, that I didn't have with my old card.
I notified ATI, but they're reluctant to say the card is dead, so I'm trying to make sure I'm covering all my bases.
I'll try it on default settings when I get home and post back.

ok, i took everything down to the lowest settings and then increased them one at a time. It seems as if it was the texture filtering that was iving me the problem. It's fine on bilinear, but when I put it on trilinear, the graphics get corrupted..
thanks for the help guys!
