Unhappy

I've been trying to beat the "forgeboss" on Start Trek Voyager: Elite Force for about 2 weeks. I'm tired of running around in circles until my hand cramps, with seemingly no damage to the guy. How do you kill him?

Talking

Seriously, is there a way to beat this guy with out cheating? It kinda takes the fun out of games, IMHO, when you HAVE to cheat to win.

There is a pattern to his madness, learn it. When he is shooting those fireballs at you- run and don't stop! Don't stop to boost your health and don't bother shooting at him. When he stops shooting fireballs, start shooting (while strafing of course) with your most powerful weapon and then stop shooting and start running a second before he starts shooting again. It takes awhile to kill him and to learn the pattern. Sadly to say, previous experience playing Mario on Nintendo helps, as it is similar to killing the bosses in SuperMario World. Run and dodge while the boss is shooting, then when it stops, shoot him, repeat as necessary. I found that the boss was really annoying and by far the least enjoyable part of the game-- but then end bosses, for some reason, usually are.

Saving the game as you proceed through the killing of the boss is also helpful until you learn the pattern-- that way you don't have to start all over if you get hit by one of those fireballs.

It helps when you get close to the boss to shoot him. But as said, when he throws the balls, run like hell. You should have enough ammo to finish him off without picking up new ammo. (if you used the super ammo thing before the last stage.)
