I just got round to playing it and i am stunned it is a great game.
Althought at the moment the internet games are pretty laggy im sure a patch will fix it.
Anyway apart from that i cant fault it. The graphics are vastly improved compared to the original and player models look fantastic. The Helocopters are extremily easy to fly and hovering is very simple, also a feature i was looking for was wether i could shoot from vehicles with my own weapon and i CAN, you can sit in the passenger seat of a jeep and shoot with your own weapon and the same with helocopters.

The explosions effect has been greatly improved and also reloading animations and weapon detail is greatly improved. the main menu has a totaly new format and the multiplayer/internet selection in jammed pack full of features. (if playing online remember to turn Punk buster ON at the bottom of the screen)

Team combat is a huge feature of the game letting you cap flags in 4 seconds with a team of 6. Infantry combat is alot better in this game which is a good improvement over the original.

I personally had no problems setting my BF V up but there are many complaints about it on forums. (I dont think they look after the computers very well)
There is no denying that the game needs a patch for ATI users to fully utilise there cards and less lag in online games. but overall i give it 9/10.

They should make a you-lag-its-your-problem system. So that if people have bad connections or slow computers they will just be left behind untill they cach up so they dont lag the whole game.

lol, take a transport tank, put on the surfing bird song, go in the enemy base (squashing a couple of them at the same time) and jump out with a 100 round belt fed machine gun. once youve done that youll forget about every other game youve ever played

Whew, can't wait to go to the store to get it. How much different is BF:V compared to Eve of Destruction?

How do you put on the music while in a tank or chopper ? me and some friends were playing a first small bfv lan yesterday but we couldnt find it.
There are some bugs here and there in the game (and graphic issues with ati cards, but i have gf4ti). but it looks indeed as a very worthy follow up to the original battlefield methinks. i mostly like the cool little animations on the weapons
moving clips and metal pieces) and the improved AI for the bots.

i always put surfing bird or rise of the valkereys
surfing bird is just plain funny and RotV spells war.

EDIT:manual page 8, second thing shows how to use the radio

thanks ghost2003, i guess i was so eager to play the game i just took a quick look at the manuals, did even see it . i should read it properly before i start playing again. I didnt even know about the "traps" and the shovel until one of the friends at the "lan" told me. (those tree logs with spikes are awesome)
and It's so much more fun with some good music while in game.

darn that's a bummer. But i know what you mean, 2 of my lan buddies are chopper and plane fanatics and their joysticks look as if they've gone trough a real war. I prefer walking or a jeep or boat when the action is far from my spawn point. i only have a logitech rumblepad gamepad or something and i cant keep them flying things in the air longer than 3 seconds.

yep, my joystick is broke. The thing that twists on the stick that I use to turn doesnt work . But the keyboard works well. Acctualy, they keyboard is better for helicopters.

Well walking isnt that slow if ya cant keep a chopper in the air for longer than 3 seconds like me. while walking at least i get there sometime, with choppers or planes i just keep crashing and respawing. i only take jeeps or tanks when i have to be like on the other end of the map, they're too obvious targets when coming close to the enemy (certainly in an open jeep)

Jeeps are good. Your as obvious of a target as when you walk but much faster and you have some armor.

Tomster, your card should have absolutely no problems with this game. i have an Aopen Geforce 4 Ti 4200 128mb 8x and the game runs perfect at 1024x768 with all set to full. If the rest of your system is as up to date it should run fine me thinks.

Ghost2003, jeeps are faster and have more armour (and music ), but i think on foot you are a lot less easily spotted, at least if you hide a bit like under trees, grass, bushes, houses, and so on. Or doesnt this make a difference in game ?

Thanks. My system is up to date, so I should be able to run it. Now I'm wondering whether I should purchase it or the new FarCry game. Lol. Any help?
