Counter Strike Help

I've got the game and done all the training but when I go to play it online it won't work. I always get the error "different protocol version" also what does the little green and red dots mean.

P.S I have a 512kb adsl connection running on win 98

Send a message via ICQ to CrazyMike
Do you have the most up to date version of CS?

Get steam. www.steampowered.com Its the new system that valve uses.

EDIT: I downloaded it here https://www.atihl2offer.com/steam.asp Its from ATI, they give HL2 with the video cards and all the half-lifes(exept bleushift) through steam. I think its normal steam.

ATI site D/L time= 5 secs

steampowered mirrors D/L time= 3 hours

How much memory does your computer have? It might be that you have lack of resources, but somewhat improbable...
