Epic cracks down on cheaters

Epic plans to not allow the CD keys of known cheaters in UT2K3 and UT2K4. This is certainly a great move on their part! Kudos to Epic on this and may every other online gaming provider implement something along this line. In addition to an improved version of the cheat-stopping measures found in UT2003, UT2004 utilizes a targeted tracking and response system at the master server level that allows us to focus on those people really causing problems. Yesterday we identified and permanently banned a UT2004 player, "Zellius", for cheating. Hey Zellius, good riddance.

Whats the point of using bots??? Your not even playing (not like if you really are when you cheat anyways). They should make a system that will scan you system for games if you go online and will ban you from all of em if you are found cheating. That would be funny...unless you cheat .

Bravo to Epic! Although the normal Jim Bob and Bill will say "Why?", this is what legitimate gamers have been waiting for. Justice for cheating in games. I haven't personally been a huge victim of cheating (I stayed away from CounterStrike thanks), but from what I hear from other gaming forums is it's too prevalant, and it needed more then Punkbuster to make it stop dead cold.

Again, kudos to Epic!

Most modders aren't malicious. Modders usually just make characters, skins, mutators, weapons and maps.

It's usually the l33t modders who cause trouble.

Now we can all play the game w/o getting our heads shot off in the first two seconds of spawning. Have they fixed the issues in Call of Duty yet? I quit playing that right when cheats started coming out. It seemed like there was always one person with a "see through wall" cheat on every server. I applaud Epic and UT2K4 for a good game... and for a funny "you've been banned" message.

Isn't there a group of gamers that submit IP addresses to their servers for game play? If I am correct, then they can just go there.
