Juddery screen in CFS3

Not sure if this post is in the right place...

When I play CFS3, particularly in multiplayer, the game gets really juddery. The screen locks internittently.

My pc is on 512kb broadband connection, 64mb video car, 256mb RAM and 40GB hdd. I use a force feedback joystick.

Many thanks.

by juddery doe you mean that the framerate gets too low? CFS 3 can be a very resource demanding game. What is the exact type and brand of your video card and what processor do you have in that machine?

Are you using updated drivers, with some cards in can make quite the difference?

on which settings do you run cfs3? i mean screen resolution, do you have AA and AF on or off, high or low detail settings?

CFS3? Combat Flight Simulator 3.

Have 512MB coming, but problems may arise from video card. When I get home, I'll check out make etc.

256 mb is indeed on the low side for cfs3, noticed this myself. certainly in the bigger fights 512mb is really a plus.

if the vidcard is older like geforce 2 mx series that's probably the main cause, this is a graphically quite demanding game.

maybe try to run it with everything at minimal first, and then work your way up to see how far you can get it without losing too many frrames per second.

Thanks grasshopperbe

I have Ge force2 right now.

I'll try the 512 when it comes.

Will post back - shouldn't be too long.
