Vice City Multiplayer
Hey,
I tried vice city multiplayer when it first came out and boy was it laggy. Has anyone tried it recently? Is it playable? Thanks.

I downloaded the latest client. It's called MTA or multi theft auto and you can find it at their website www.mtavc.com
It's a mod and it is pretty easy to make work, you just have to follow their very easy instructions. The only lag occurs when you meet someone else. Nothing really lags, it's just the people themselves kinda skip around. Hard to explain, you just have to play it yourself. MTA has come a long way since I played it when it first came out a year ago. Their website says an even newer version is due out soon, and I hope it only continues to improve. Go check it out and hopefully I'll see you on the streets of the notorious vice city. (I forgot to add that they have a version for GTA3 as well so you can play this with either game.) |

Last time I tired it, it was quite playable, just make sure you install VC's patch first, I had that problem before installing the patch.

The only patch I can find for the game is a version 1.1 which corrects polygon corruption. Should I install this thing anyway. It says people who dont have this problem (me) dont need to install it.

Yes, the 1.1 patch, IIRC, the MTA site recommended installing it too.

Just curious but do you play against the other person or with?
