Anybody ever paid attention to memory usage while running BF1942? I have a gig and it sucks it down like a fat kid with a milk shake.

LOL. Well, I have a buddy with a similar system to mine, but with half the memory. He takes way longer than me to load levels, and he can't turn the Bots and AI all the way up at the same time without getting lag.

it seems that all modern games (BFV, Far Cry(especially) and UT2K4) need 1gig to play nicely. i dont thing 512 cuts it any more and for all gaming computers it should have 1024mb of RAM. I wonder what Half life 2 and Doom 3 are going to have as minimum specs

Battlefield doesn't take too long for me to load, and I have 512 mb of ram. I wait about a minute for a level to load. Patience is a virtue (wish I had some).

LOL I have 512MB RAM as well, and it takes about 25 seconds for it to load. I'm definitely thinking about upgrading to 1GB, once I get the money hehehe

I have a gig and it takes roughly 15 sec for a BF level, depending on how big it is.

I don't have BF but with 1 gig of RAM most of my games load up fast enough where I don't have enough time to go get a snack. I know on my old 500mhz computer I could go get a snack and be back in time to see the second half of the level loading bar.

hmmm. Something doesn't add up there. If it ain't going to your ram, than it must be paging for some reason. The data has to flow somewhere. How fast do the levels load?
