Okay here's the scoop. I got Xbox Live yesterday and went over to my friends house, w/ my own Xbox, and set up my account there and played online for awhile there just fine.
But when I get back home and try to login it tells me "Cannot Find Xbox Live," when it gets to the bottom of the lil checklist thing with the four green balls. I have tried the power cycle thing about 5 times. Me and my friend have the same internet and service provider, CableOne. I directly connect to my cable modem, while I connected to my friends router when I was using XBL at his house. Please help this is driving me NUTS. |

Check your network settings and make sure they are all on automatic.
EDIT: oh ya, xbox live was offline for updates the 21st

Xbox live is kind of finicky about how you set it up and play it. Try resetting up your account at your own house and see if it works then.

I have xbox live myself (right now my xbox is currently broken - waiting on a new one to arrive ~ dont get me started on the inept people at best buys) and I know that it's really finicky about how it connects. I also have the PS2 adaptor and I remember it saying you must keep the same internet connect, or be forced to go through the entire configuration thing again. Ain't it a pain in the behind? I personally disliked giving a mastercard number over the xbox live thing -- just a side note.

Xbox Live works anywhere with a broadband internet connection. Whenever I can't log in I just unplug my router for a few seconds. Have you tried the troubleshooting thing on the Xbox?

yea iv'e tried the power cycle thing quite a bit. I also did try to like re-do my account and it still like wont even connect. But I'm trying again today and if fails i just may call them and complain, lol. The Xbox network troubleshooter is no help, for me anyways. Yes the whole credit card thing is ridiculous, I mean u already paid for the online product, soooo dumb. Any other tips/ advice?

Ok greeeat i called Xbox and I was on the phone with the guy for like 30 minutes and he couldnt figure it out, so the gave me a Ticket# for their "Tech Team" or something. They're supposed to call me within 24 hours and oh my gosh this is so messed up. Almost not worth it.
