VERY strange problem with battlefield
i have found a very strange driver problem with battlefield
if i try to play the game after i've been using WMP or Winamp the game will restart my computer. for some reason realplayer does not do this and if i try to play the game after the computer was in standby mode the game will restart the computer and sometimes battlefield just randomly closes and after the restart windows says it was a driver problem and it cant identify whats causing the problem i think this happened because i had to reinstall windows (without reformatting the entire disk) after i was playing around with the system kernel (yea i know i'm stupid )however i dont remember if battlefield had this problem before that (i think it didnt) my system specs are in my sig and i'm currently running XP and Norton internet security and antivirus 2003 (if that matters) thanks for any and all help ![]() edit: i might be doing a full disk reformat pretty soon to get rid of the junk that has accumulated over the past 4 months |

Are you using the newest drivers for your motherboard/video card, etc? Also is your direct X up to date? Have you overclocked your video card/processor or memory?

I've been doing a little research on the battlefield site and I was wondering if you were using a third party refresh rate fix program. You may need ot uninstall it if you are. Those have been known to drive battlefield crazy.

On the asus site you should be able to find your board. On the board's page should be a link to drivers or technical help or something. Have you solved your problem yet?
