Sounds like you replaced everything but what could actually be causing the problem... and that would be the PSU. How big and what brand is your power supply? Could be heat related also.

psu= power supply unit. open up your comp. and look at the sticker on it. tell us the brand and wattage.

also is your computer overclocked?
and what virus protections are you using. make sure you dont have 2 running at the same time, since this can cause major issues. i fixed a computer like that, it made system resouces 100% all the time because the anti-viruses were fighting for program checks.

What is your CPU usage when you aren't doing anything but looking at the desktop?

EDIT* It does sound like you have something running in the background. Check your processes again carefully!

Make sure you have fully updated drivers. Goto Windows update to bring your OS up to date. Are you even running SP1?

some of those games you are playing are way bigger than what your Intergrated graphics can handle....Especially "Everquest" I know....you should be running a vid card preferable an agp card....even a simple geforce 4 mx440 64megabite will do....

My experience with Everquest and others games with onboard graphic causes some crashes....put in a cheap card and cured it....

check in device manager for any conflicts.....

Will do ya think a radeon 9600 , 9700, 9800, agp pro would do the job?

Don't go with a AGP PRO card. Instead go with a regualr AGP card and a 9800 Pro 128MB. Hopefully you see the difference and I'm not confusing you.

The current AGP slot can supply up to 25 W to the graphics card. An AGP Pro slot can provide a total of 50W or 110W. But with more power comes more heat. Plus, for compatibility sake, a standard AGP card will work in more mobos than a Pro, which is mainly supported for business graphic stations and not home desktop/gaming computers.

You guys are confusing what I am saying... Yes, get the 9800 Pro card. It will come for a standard AGP slot. You'll be hard pressed to find a AGP PRO slot card... almost all cards are standard AGP. So, right now the best bang for the buck is a 9800 Pro 128MB card, Pro is just part of the card's name, not the slot type.

Installing in XP is the same as 98. You only go into the BIOS if you have to disable onboard, integrated graphics.

It's different per mobo, it might say "disable onboard vga device" or "primary graphics adapter = VGA". Changing RAM size will not disable your integrated card.

If its a generic brand and its a 300 watt that could be the problem, its most likely not giveing you anywere near 300 watt. If you are still haveing problems try buying a good 300 -350 watt enermax or enlight.

300w is on the low side and it may be causing the problems. Do you happen to know the manufacturer/brand of the power supply? How old is it? Do you have a lot of HD's or lights and did you ever add the radeon card b/c they all could be sucking a lot of juice.
