What to do with a $100 Gift Card to Game Stop?

My supervisor gave me a $100 gift card to Game Stop for always going the extra mile SWEET!

But I don't know what to do with it. Well, of course I am going to buy games with it but which ones? There's so many games to choose from.

I don't get to play games that much now so I have no clue which games are good. There are only 2 games installed in my rig (see sig)...Broodwar and Chessmaster. Besides my 32mb NVIDIA vid card can't handle 3D games. Anyways, I am thinking of upgrading to a 128mb ATI 9800 Pro when HL2 comes out (which will probably be 10 yrs. from now...heh).

As of now, I haven't played Battlefield, HL, UT (except for the 1st release), Counter-strike, etc. Come to think of it, I never got to play any new games (does Mechwarrior4 count?). I also don't get to keep track of the new games.

I like explosions. Games that I like are shooters (HL), team shooters (Unreal), Strategy (Broodwar). I also like Mechwarrior 2 where you get to shoot stuff, hire personel, buy/sell arms/mechs, customize mechs. Did I mention that I like to see things explode?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Unreal Tournament 2004 is great. You'll probably need a better graphics card though.

battlefield vietnam is good but you need a minimum 64mb video card.

Ok, I am getting HL2 (pre-buy), UT2004, and I'm thinking Counter-Strike Condition Zero.

How is Counter-Strike Condition Zero? Is it buy worthy? Is this an expansion pack (like do I have to buy anything else before I can play this...kinda like Broodwar?) or is this a stand alone prog?

can you explain a bit more? I'm sorry, I took 24 credits this semester plus I work 30-40 hrs. per week. So I was either studying, working, or sleeping during last semester.

I don't think these are too bad on the vid card:

Call of Duty
Rainbow 6
Warcraft 2 or 3
Mafia
Earth 2150

Skip Condition Zero. It released to poor reviews. Also, don't buy any of the Half Life add-ons. If you buy the original HL and you have broadband, you can download Counterstrike, Day of Defeat, Blue Shift, etc.

Save the gift card till you upgrade your video card. Then jump on HL2, UT2004 and Call of Duty.

I pre-ordered Doom 3
And I'm off to buy UT2004 and HL Platinum Edition tomorrow at my lunch break

I guess we all know what I'll be doing next weekend
