I got a slew of 3D games with the SB Live Platinum 5.1. I've not gotten into 3D games (been a playstation addict) until I popped in these games that came with the sound card: MDK2, Thief 2: Metal Age, Deus Ex, Soldier Of Fortune and Unreal Tournament
So, I've been directed to some great review sites concerning gamepads, but I'm looking for input from some of you 3D gamers on gamepads that work well with shooters and RPG's. Anyone use the Hammerhead from Interact? I'd appreciate your experiences and advice. Thanks

No gamepads work that great with first person shooters from my experience. I haven't seen one that allows you to use two directional keys at the same time, so you can't run and look at the same time.
Do yourself a favor and practice with the keyboard and mouse, you'll do alot better in the end, trust me .The exception to this rule is the Panther XL joystick/trackball combo contoller. For people who love trackballs they're great. Some of the best UT players I've played against use Panther joystick/trackball controllers. Xayd |

Yeah, learn to play with keyboard mouse, and you will only want the pad for sports games, wheel for racing, and stick for flying. Nothing beats mouse/key for FPS.

Keyboard & MOuse.
I was about to buy the Micrsoft Sidewinder Dual Strike pad but read enough reviews that stated in the end kb & m was the way to go.
