Im gona order Unreal Tournament 2004 this weekend. I don't have a dvd-rom drive right now, do i need one? (if so, which one would u sugest?) I've herd that sometimes the anti-piracy software on the disc won't let u play even if u have the original disk in (with older drives). I have a newer cd-rom drive, and all my other specs are at least double of the requirements. it sounds like a sweet game. thanks for your time.
o, heres the game link if u need it- newegg- http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...factory=BROWSE bestbuy- http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....4&type=product |

UT2004 is the only game I have seen in both DVD-ROM and CD-ROM formats....as long as you have a CD-ROM drive just make sure you get a CD-ROM UT2004, not the DVD kind...the only benefit to having a DVD is that it is one disc install instead of 4 or 5...and I think UT2004 in DVD comes with bonus features on another disk...don't buy a DVD drive for the game, just buy the CD version.

the DVD version has a bonus disc with hours of in-depth tutorial for beginner on modding UT2004. I believe the videos are made by 3DBuzz, and if you feel you ABSOLUTELY need the video tutorial, you should find all of the included tutorials at 3D Buzz (need to register to get download, but they're free...the last time I checked)

The tutorials are free based on your participation on the 3DBuzz forums, you can't just join and download them all and not look back, but rather you get to download one now and another after you have made an active contributions to the 3DBuzz forums.

I wouldnt be suprised if FarCry has a DVD version. The CryEngine Sandbox is pretty sweet.

I haven't had any trouble running the game and in fact the new patch disables the cd check, so you should be fine.
