Clearly a situation where if you're smart, you'll boycott that location and encourage others to do so too.

More than 2 years ago, I was a Comp Sci major. Outsourcing was not a big deal back then but I saw it coming. So I decided to change majors. I thought long and hard for a viable career. Then, it hit me...death & taxes...two things that humans cannot escape.
I basically boiled it to two jobs that cannot be outsourced or affected by the economy...mortician/undertaker and accountants. Undertakers are needed since people die everyday, regardless of the economy. I doubt that the public would outsource the position and send dead bodies to other countries. Accountants are also safe since companies need to know how much money they're making/losing. In addition, tax laws will remain extremely complex and impossible to comprehend so long as Congress makes them. This job would be hard to outsource since a person would need to know the company in order to keep track of its finances. The best way to do this is to be with the company and actually see its daily operations. Plus, a person needs to be a US citizen in order to be an IRS agent. The best place to look for US citizens is still the USA.

Adding to what James8547 said, another job that can't be outsourced is jobs that require a human on Location, such as Line Men for power and phone companies, any type of labor in short. If your job could in theory be preformed from home, with a computer internet connection. I could just as easy be outsourced to anyplace in the world.

I also thought that professions in the medical field cannot be outsourced. However, last week, my sister fell from the stairs (she's ok, btw...just a bump on the head and bone fracture in the arm). They took scans and x-rays in the ER. The person who read the results are in the other side of the globe, in Australia. That was weird. I sure hope it's not some kid on the net pretending to be a doctor.
