Alienware sounds up your alley. Have fun. A quick visit over to English Grammar Tutor's website might not hurt either.

Thumbs up

He He I thought message boards were supose to to lacking of grammar. Good spelling there too. I looked at alienware, but since I made my money building computers I think I'll challenge myself. Plus Alienware doesn't use top of the line technology, L computers does. Check them out.

Do you think selling one of my kidneys would get enough money for that rig?

The total cost is $14,405 for the system only, no monitor, no mouse, no keyboard, no speakers. I predict it would be around $20,000 fully equiped . Or you could just buy a small car. The Xeons are $920, and the X800 is $619.

Is this a gaming machine? Why not go with a P4EE? Xeons are for servers, not gaming. Does that say 16 2GB sticks? If you're running XP on that machine you're wasting about 6500 bucks. I think XP only recognizes up to 4GB of RAM. You could get 1-1.5GB and that would be plenty for anything.

I think the xeons are better because, they are good at multitasking and other things. I keep the 16 2GB sticks because that means this rig never ever will need a memory upgrade. I now just want to know the sickest, fastest most expensive rig you guys can think of. My Xeon idea was just testing a dual processor solution. I thinking of an AMD FX-53 939 build, or a Presscott build too. I'll post them when I finish my configuration. For now still can anyone top this!

i agree, even if you get the windows xp max (4 gb) well never be able to user more then like 2 gb at once.

read this http://www.crucial.com/kb/answer.asp?qid=3743

4 gb is the most windows xp will support, any more than that and it wont work. Now if you use linux you can use 64gb of ram.

I'll stick with windows and downgrade the ram to 4 gigabytes of dual channel.
The reason the ram speed is so low is that that is the highest speed ram the motherboard supports. Sad isn't it. Also is there a cooler cooling solution than vapor phase? I live in Alaska so I was thinking about putting it outside in the winter time. Still my main question still stands can anyone top this.

No matter what OS you use, 16 sticks of memory wont do you much good unless you have a mobo with 16 DIMMs, and I don't see any of those on the horizon.

*EDIT* sorry, I posted before i read this:

It just seemed like the sickest cooling on the market and it was the coldest. Also with Phase change cooling I can overclock to unimaginable speeds. Still my question stands tall can anyone top this rig.

Also, I've heard bad things about the ATI HDTV Wonder, it might be a better idea to stick with the Hauppauge WinTV PVR-350

I've heard many more good things than bad about the HDTV wonder. I just found a new Tumwater motherboard, the Supermicro X6DA8-G2. It supports DDR II-400 memory. I don't know where to get DDR II-400 memory though. The processors are also now 3.6 GH.

get a dif board that supports faster ram, and get a non-server proc and that probably will top it, just because server systems really dont perform that well at all at gaming, and the faster ram will help much. also get ram with the lowest CAS latency.

If I had an endless pocket book, I would probably mirror what Maximum PC did in their Dream Machine 2004.

P4 3.6E @ 4.0
2GB DDR2 PC4200
ATI X800XT or 6800 Ultra
2 74GB Raptors in Raid 0
2 300GB Maxtor DiamondMax 10s 16MB cache
DL DVD burner
Sharp LC-M3700 37" LCD
Audigy2 ZS
Logitech Z-680

I would do something like that.

The Apple 23" Cinema HD Display is an excellent monitor at $1999. Also, if you are a student you can get it for $1799 I believe. The 30" will be out soon but is delayed at the moment.

Sony is the worst for LCD displays, don't buy one of those.
