Build question

does every build call for thermal grease or other special items when making?

Without Thermal Grease, or a pad the CPU will overheat, my Athlon XP with thermal paste runs at ~45, which is too hot, but without thermal grease the temperature would probably shoot up.

Spare standoffs? Spare jumpers? Although if you buy a case it will come with plenty, and motherboards come with spare jumpers. You might need power splitter, and maybe extra IDE cables.

That is far from being too hot and actually well within acceptable limits.
