Close encounter with death

Went to the dentist today and it was a routine fixing of a small cavitie he was almost done when something went wrong, very wrong. The head of some tool he had detatched and the next thing I knew was I was choking. I had so many thoughts within that second about dying, I litterally lost all my vision and he immediatly flipped me with my back facing up and his assistant was asking me are you ok? " If you know what I am saying raise your hand" My vision was so blured I panicked and tryed to put my fingers in my mouth. Then I went unconcious and didn't remember anything. I a woke on the floor gasping for air with him doing the heimlih manuver. Wow that was scary... Not only do I hate dentists to add it all I almost died. But he savedmy life. He told me to get checked out for irregular heart heat and some dammge to the throat. Iwent there but all was good, a little freaked out but all in all I am grateful.

wow, that is a story.... glad you are still here...

but don't hate dentists, find yourself one that is a good one. When I moved to Boston from Texas I obviously needed a new dentist, I went to one a friend recommended. I have NEVER had a filing take so little time or be so painless, and I 'hate' the novacane shots which he still did but in a way that made even that almost painless. My wife needed a crown after not going to a dentist for years, she told me afterwards that she had small cavities done at other dentists that hurt way more than the crown did. The other dentist telling her that 'it was supposed to hurt'!?

Anyway, dental health is just as important as anything else, if you want to avoid dentists I am afraid you will have to avoid a modern diet, no ground grains (wheat etc) I learned in anthro class that tooth dacay pretty much came when we settled down and got agricultural and started grinding the grains releasing the sugars, before then the teeth were pretty much in good shape - especially if you don't chew leather to make it soft.....

I don't hate dentists I meant if it isn't already a hassle to have to have tools in there. Maybe I didn't explain what I mean. Ok just like any 15 year old I like candy.I sometimes neglect my teeth and just rinse and all. Not any more. He did 3 small fillings in about 1/2 hour pretty painless w/o injections.I am glad I am here too.

yeah find a better dentist. my dentist does fillings and crowns in very little time. i don't even use novacane cuz she asks if you want it. i like physicians who take your opinions into consideration while giving you examinations.
