Yep, we were talking about that at work today. I wouldn't choose that area for racing, it's an expressway with some traffic lights and driveways. There have been a lot more high-speed chases in the area in recent years, mainly due to people on their "loin launchers" (I like that better than "crotch rocket"). I'd much prefer that they find some abandoned track to race on so they don't speed and kill me when I am doing the speed limit.

200 mph?? That is insanity. I have a question for everyone here. How tall of a building do you need to jump off of to reach a velocity of 200 mph? It is a trick question because the human body has a terminal velocity of about 180 mph when travelling in the "cannonball" position. I pretty much doubt that the person could be an organ donor if he wiped out at that speed. Maybe a couple of teeth would still be in tact.

205 MPH is about the speed you travel on a low speed plane...scary to consider that - a little bit of drop on the rear flaps, and you'll be flyin...literally.

I've driven US 61 North between the twin cities and Wabasha many times to go visit my grandma. That's not a road you'd wanna go 205 on (as if any road was, but I think you get the point).

Hi y'all!
Well I don't know if you know the M50 ringroad 'motorway' in Dublin but if I can get to 70mph (the legal speed) then I'm doin' well. Doing 200+ is sheer madness. Yeah I've hit 85 or so the odd time but Christ that's fast but 200mph..... suicidal....This is not to say that I condone speeding on motorways, which I don't , but we've all done it....but not at 200mph....absolutely not.... My record is 120mph. Maybe I can beat him... too bad my car only goes up to 140mph. Just imagine going 200mph! I would cry from fear lol.

A good friend of mine got pulled over going 145mph on his bike. He was charged with reckless driving, attempted suicide, attempted manslaughter, attempted assault with a deadly weapon, and speeding. He spent 3 months in county jail for it, lost his license for 2 years and was on probation for 3 years. and that was only 145!!!! I wonder what this guy got for it??

I'm sure that this guy will get his 15 minutes of fame from this. To bad he will have to mortgage that 15 minutes to pay what must be one whopper of a ticket.
In my reckless youth I hit about 130 street racing and I drove a friends alcohol car to a sub 8 second timeslip (forget the mph). I don't want to knock the younger generation, but back then we used stretches of road that had been abandoned by the city/state/feds and no one used anymore. When we raced there the cops didn't even hassle us. We would at times challenge each other on the streets but it wasn't this 100+ mph speed fest while weaving in and out of traffic that seems to go on today. We finally got a real drag strip on one of the Air Forces landing strips but they shut us down after 9/11. -Spartan |

Wheely at 70mph+
Last week I was driving down the highway doing about 60 or 65 mph, when a biker got right beside me and did a wheely and continued on one wheel down the highway till he got about a mile ahead of me. Now that was scarey, gosh one wheel all that way. What power to be able to pop a wheely at 70 to 75 mph and hold it for over a mile. It was on a straight strech of highway, on Cape Cod no less...................

there is no way that guy was doing 205. From seeing the tv interiew with cop he was using stop watch. I would say he probably was doing 150 or so. Still fast, he wasn't arrested after he got pulled over
