Doom 3, without a doubt. It will strain your hardware to the max. Whats the spec?

Agreed. Its a fabulous game. Doesn't really introduce anything new, but it takes everything good about the best FPSs and makes them better.

Of course, you really need 5.1 speakers to truly experience the game. The difference is phenominal. It makes it scary as hell.

I would add Far Cry to the list but be aware that the game is a little buggy.

I would add the power supply to the "parts that matter". Anyway, if you really want to test it Doom III is definetly the one to get.

doom3, farcry both games push your hardware. i'd get far cry myself cuz of the mod community and because of the lush backgrounds. doom3 is just too dark for my tastes. half life 2 would also be a game worth getting.

ur running a very similar system to mine except for the CPU and the sound card. i wouldn't think a sound card and an AMD CPU would suck that much power. ur choice tho. the PSU would probably be good if you ever decide to OC and need some extra juice.

That system would run on a good quality 350w PSU. However at least a 400w is a good idea. The power supply you have is a very good one. It's just that you could save quite a bit by going with something like an Enlight 420w. It's your choice though.

unreal tournament 2004 isn't for everybody. if you like the fast paced action like some of us do, you're going to rlly like UT2004. it lacks some of the reality or practicality in design then other games but like the title says, its unreal.

Yeah i had a few bugs which I had to iron out with FarCry but downloading this patch helped heaps and improved the graphics and performance... I also understand that a new patch will be released soon (v1.2 ?)

FarCry patch v1.1 info and links **26.5MB**

I have to agree... Doom3 and FarCry... also why not test the 3DMark05 to REALLY push it and get a score which you can compare...enjoy!

Not to derail the thread but Far Cry had patch v1.2 but it was really buggy so they withdrew it. There are talks about a v1.3 but I heard that the dev team had disbanded.

Far Cry is awsome. I just beat it last week, and I had no problems with it on my computer. Beautiful game, though. Now I'm playing Dawn of War. Very good game.
