The 'most moving' song you ever heard.....

Hi all,
For me it's Eva Cassidy singing 'Over The Rainbow'. It brings me to tears everytime I hear it. Perfect.....voice + song = perfection.

"Where were you when the world stopped turning?" Funny I can't even remember who it was. I think it was Alan Jackson but I'm not sure. It's about 9/11.

Butterfly Kisses - Bob Carlisle. No dad can listen to it without getting a tear and

God Bless the USA - Lee Greenwood. Makes me remember all my buds with their names on The Wall. I still stand at attention and salute when it is played.

That song moves me too. I like how the Country Current bluegrass band does it. I have video of the concert they did at the Darrington Washington bluegrass festival in July 2001. It was the last song of the night and the crowd of several thousand was all on their feet. I won't forget it.

Neil Young's "Old Man". The brutal humanity in his voice just kills me.

Stevie Ray Vaughan's version of "Little Wing". No words, just some good old blues guitar playin'.

For me it's "Amazing Grace" played on Bagpipes or "Agnus Dei" by Michael W. Smith. There is absolutely nothing to match it! thorlo6

You know the song Andy Dufresne plays over the prison loudspeakers?? I don't know what song it is, but it's so calming and nice. And Red's comments on it summarise it perfectly.

That and "I am Australian" (because I used to get picked on as a child for a slightly Englsih accent), and the "Australian National Anthem". I think it takes the military to make one realise how much you love your nation **my opinion only, disagreement welcome**
