metal detectors

i bet someone here knows something about metal detectors, i am looking for one for a hobby (not that i need another one) , something that will detect coins old jewelry etc, nothing fancy or too expensive $100 to $150. checked out the Bounty Hunter fast tract and something about like that seems ok, any ideas on a quality one in that price range?

the best brand is white, based in oregon. it is the best and most usefull one made, been in the busness over 40 years, knew them when they was working out of a grage in the back yord to what they are today.

I don't know dittle about them, but I hear that Radio Shack has a nice variety.

Not sure why I am recommending these so and so's, because they ripped me off on a delivery charge, but there you are thats life. Any way www.harborfreight.com there is what looks like a beginers one here for about $50 plus delivery.
Don't be put off by my delivery charge problem, I live in Puerto Rico and some companies consider it to be international and some don't.

i'll look at the white, saw them listed somewhere, didn't think about harborfreight i have their catalog, going to the big city monday so will look at radio shack-thanks guys. there are several old abondand towns from the early 1900's around where i live so thought it would be fun to check them out. also a site where the stage used to stop at a spring on the route from austin tx. to abilene,tx. can still see the camp fire ashes there.
