Engraved Wood / Marble Christmas Present - Opinions Needed

Hey,

During the last few weeks, I have been pulled out of Computer Applications I (a very simple high school computer class) to do some work for the school's shop teacher in excel for state ciriculum requirements. Today he told me that as soon as I got the state stuff done, he would let me go back and play with the school's laser burner (basically a printer that engraves stuff in wood or marble). He said he would let me make a christmas present for my parent on it. I walked back, and immediately a peice of wood with a powercat (my family are obviously kstate fans) caught my eye. It looked awesome.

So my question for you guys is this:
Which would you prefer, the original look of marble or the classic look of wood?

It will be for hanging purposes indoors most likely. Thanks for any opinions!

I went for wood , I did a few plaques in the 80s in wood shop and I still love the look that it gives out.

well to put it simply, if the marble you use matches the decor of the home, then it would simply be for a lack of a better word, pimped

Marble looks really classy.... wood looks awesome.... glass looks fantastic
Work out where you want it placed, and then see what'd fit in the best
