IBM Notebooks
Hi all,
Upon hearing that IBM is going out of the PC business, I'm now wondering when exactly they will quit making their own notebooks and what effect this will have on the quality. I was planning on buying a brand new IBM notebook for Graduate school (1.5 years down the road). Does anyone know about whether their quality will likely go down or stay the same? Would it make sense to buy now or just wait and see what happens? Thanks in advance. |

1) as you are concerned, i would wait out and see how this IBM/Lenovo merger/acquisition plays out. It may be a good thing or a bad thing only time will tell. 2) you never know what new technologies and changes may occur in the coming year and a half...laptops of tomorrow may bear no resemblance to laptops of today, plus the ever spiraling prices of computer technology will allow you to buy far more power tomorrow for the same price than exists today. PC's and many computer technologies are now commodity items, buy them when you need them and you will be better off than buying in advance. |
