Bugs in a system

Quote:
Kevin Sorensen sent us some computer pictures that will no doubt make your skin crawl. Apparently the computer would crash after running for a few minutes, when they popped the case to see what was wrong…this is what they found. I am sure this could have been avoided had this system been equipped with RAID :

That's pretty nasty!
There's a lesson in having a couple of exhaust fans and not just intake!!
Could have blown them right back out again.

Man that would be quite the Midway ride for a little ant!!!
Hop on that platter, hold on with all 6 legs, and spin at 7200RPM

I found Hpro's ant thread and here's the link to the pictures.

And here's a picture of a CD-ROM disk that shattered in a CD-ROM drive.

And I remember someone posting a story with pictures of a snake that was found inside a power supply.

One of my customers had an old beast Pentium 120 back in their warehouse for shipping/receiving. They hardly ever fired it up - well, one day I was back there doing preventative maintenance and opened it up. Found a mouse nest in it. I think it got in through a missing expansion slot cover.
