Send a message via AIM to ZeratulsAvenger
Umm... One that would work with every IM client(so I don't need multiple e-mails, one for yahoo, AIM, MSN, etc), Web interface and POP3 capabilities, large storage so I don't ever have to worry about running out, excellent junk mail filters, no attachment size limit... Guess that's about it. That along with the normal Folders/tags or whatever system they may use to organize the e-mail.

For web mail interfaces, it's hard to beat Gmail.

For regular mail, IMAP + Thunderbird + 100MB is all what I need.

So my dream mail services are already there

Gmail's gotten very close to everything I want - with a minor comment on replying/forwarding interface on their website email service.

I agree with you Kram. I love everything about Gmail except the reply/forward webmail interface. I wish when you hit replay or forward that it would clean up the screen a bit. I feel like im inserting text into an old email or soemthing.

PS-The gmail notifier is a great tool, especially if you integrate it into Firefox.

Well, an email service cant stop spam mail from being sent to you. Wouldnt that be bad because then it might mistake something for spam and youd never get it.
What would you like as an alternative?

That would be it - an email service that will filter out all my spam and give me zero false spam

So what I mean is something that could actually be done. If you can think of a way that a computer could know what was spam and what wasnt, without ever making a mistake, then please post it. I dont mean post the software code, just what the computer would do or look for.

maybe the computer would need AI, so it can learn your personality, and what emails you would wantto keep, and hwat you would deem as spam.

Send a message via MSN to Hi Ho
Hotmail works great for me. I don't know what I'd change. I have a Yahoo and Gmail account but they are junk mail accounts.

I dont think you were serious but thats actually not a bad suggestion.
The reason I posted this thread is because I was thinking, although I dont know for sure if I'll do it, but I would like to create my own email service, once I know how to program, well. I figured that scince there are so many good email services out there right now, the only way to come up with something better, is to ask the general public what they want, and PCMech is one great place to do that.
Thanks for all your input and if you have any more suggestions, then post them.

I quite like my email/email client already: its fast, customisable, feature rich, RSS feeds, no spam, folders, labels, colouring etc.
