Well... legit in a way... it'll cost ya in the long run. I used a bogus e-mail to go thru the process to see just what was involved... well, for one, you're gonna get spammed to death because you have to agree to accept offers and e-mails from various sites. You may be required to get a subscription at a place like Columbia house. You may be required to try a "free" sample of some prescription drug (you pay shipping of course), you get a TON of "free" offers, but pay something to obtain your "free" items. In the end, you're gonna be forking out a LOT of cash for "free" goodies and receiving a lot of spam to get your "free" ipod, TV, laptop, or whatever.
BTW, I removed the link as we don't tolerate the posting of such links here at PCM.

I seem to be getting a lot of spam these days advertising free HDTVs, plasma TVs, laptops, computers, whatever. Into the trash they go. Just remember, TANSTAAFL. Nobody will give you anything of value for free. There's always a catch, and you will always end up paying for it in one way or another. I prefer to pay for things with cash so I know what the full cost is, instead of paying for things in ways I can't see.

Nothing is ever free. You pay for it in some way.

I disagree with the nothing of value is free. Just look at all the great free software out there.
An even better example: Just look at PCM. I do think those free ipods and other extremely expensive items are BS with a catch though. BTW, what was that long acronym? |

the stuff is legit, but you need to understand how they make moeny off of it.
firstly most people completele a few offers and give up secondly they get paid by those companies that do the offers, and if u sign up for one of those trials and forget to cancel, they made a big profit on you right there. if you go into it determined to finish it, and be smart about everyything, then you should be able to get it done fine. btw dont try to cheat it or bypass the system by doing the offers yourself, youll will get caught. |

Yes, there is lots of freeware out there. The laws of capitalism break down when people do things like create software not for profit, but because they can and they think it's cool. I do it too. The acronym stands for "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch." |

There is an old saying " A fool and his money are soon parted" so on that premiss nothing is truly free.
