But dont' forget about the year or so of patches and updates to get it working 1/2 way right... and then the service packs will start to roll in

I downloaded the evaluation version of it over the weekend, it's really not too bad. I've heard various opinions of it's stability since it's a beta, but it seems just as stable as the 32 bit XP Pro (as far as that goes ).

Here is the link if anyone wants to check it out. It's FREE and it's good for 360 days.

What happens after the year? I've heard different rumors: 1) you can buy it, install it over the top, everything is good... 2) you can buy it, but it takes a fresh install...

Anybody know for sure? My 3500+ 64 should be here in a few days... seems like it might be a good time to test it out.

As soon as kWorld, Turtle Beach, and nVidia make 64bit drivers I'm switching.

sb: nVidia does make 64 bit drivers. You're talking just for your vid card right? They're on the main driver download page.

I would probably switch full time, but creative isn't making 64 bit drivers for the Audigy LS right now. I believe they've made drivers for everything but the Audigy LS and the Audigy 2 NX.

1 down then. Still need 2 more before I switch unless it also has 32bit driver support.
