Im looking to buy a video camera

I want this for filming snowboarding, skating, etc. It doesnt have to be anything good, just good quality and good enough to get the job done. I have about $1500 in the bank, but im only 16 and im getting my license soon so im gonna start spending money on gas, etc., so i dont want this to be too much $$. I really know nothing about them, so can somebody help fill me in and give some recomendations?

Do you know anyone who has a video camera?? If so, ask them what they thought of that particular model and the brand in general. Try to stick to name brands, as you're more likely to get quality.
Finally, try using the search function on this site... you should be able to find a few threads dealing with this topic

Panasonic, Cannon, and Sony all make good camcorders. Here are some models that aren't too expensive:

Panasonic PV-GS9 - $319.95

Canon ZR80 - $329.95

SONY DCR-HC20 - $440.95

I have messed around with a lot of cameras in stores and I like them all. The image stabilization seems to be best on the Panasonic cameras. All three brands use very good quality optics. Panasonic uses Lecia, Sony uses Carl Zeiss, and Cannon uses their own.
