Dell Tech support

While i don't like the fact that a) dell's tech support sucks b) they use outsourcing i do like the fact that their computers are dirt cheap. What does everyone think that the future will hold for Dell ?? any ideas?? I've heard recently that while their CEO claims it won't happen the company admits that there profits are slowly decreasing. Anyone else have any input?

PS - When i get older I'm going to take over Dell and totally revamp their company. -

Dell is publicly traded...so its easy enough to look up Dells financial statements in EDGAR and see the truth for ones self.

their tech support isn't like it is on the tv commericals, its based in India, unless you are a business, you are going to get to talk to some guy you might have trouble understand, the only thing similar to Dell having support in the US is the fact they are reading from a paper with many common issues...

"Dell PC's use intel pentium 4 processors"...ive never quite understood this, as they do use all intel but also use celeron and i think zeon processors in their servers...although they are appealing to the mainstream with this as most people think these are "the best" due to high clock speeds, i think they will lose some profits in the transition, as many people are going athlon 64 now. I would guess dell might even use AMD in the future--while amd used to only be used on budget brands,i think dell is the last to not adopt them, as i see HP, Compaq, and other prebuilts with athlon 64

Many times there are other considerations. Dell probably has an agreement with Intel to only use their processors and Intel probably gives them a better price because of it.

Once more stuff comes out for the Athlon 64, Dell will probably have some servers with them.

Bingo . I doubt very much that Dell would offer such prices if they were paying retail for the cpus , theyre probly getting the Intel processors at 70% off cost.

I read somewhere that Dell will be distributing the new Apple tablet (I-pad) starting in June. Diversifying is probably a step in the right direction.

As far as language barriers with tech support in India is concerned, there are probably as many language barriers with Texans and Canadians as Indians (Most Indians I know who speak English actually speak British English not American English).
