New type of spyware, anti removal. You have to have to type a code to uninstall it.
ok, I am not certain what to call this, but as you will see Spyware is now taking steps to keep from being automatically removed from your system by anti spyware programs.
You have to put in a code before you can remove it. Next they will probably make you go to their web site to get the code in the future. I was going though my add/remove programs and found this golden retriever cash back. First, I didn't install this, and don't remember if ever being prompted to install Now it is in my add remove programs, so I click uninstall. It wants me to confirm this move. I should not have to confirm to uninstall a program I never installed. attached 2 screen shots of this crap.

I haven't seen this one yet, but I have seen lots of similar trickery.
Read closely and you will see: You are now removing [our insidious malware] If you really want it, type in the code and press enter. By typing in that code, you allowed the install to remain on there, and perhaps installed more. I know it's really tricky, but that is the point. They word these things that way so you just give it a quick look and press enter. I truly believe that even IT pro's fall prey to this even. It isn't that they are less knowledgable. They are more so in fact. But using a Windows system breeds a point and click mentality. (I am guilty of it too Spending more time with the OS makes it worse actually. We are after all living animals that can be trained, it's human nature.

I'm surprised that it didn't ask for your SSN & B-date before removing it. Maybe this feature is on Golden Retriever v2.0 Beta.
I should shut my trap and stop giving them ideas...

Well, from now on, I think it should be Illegal for software to be installed on your computer from a website unless you type in the same type of Confirm Code.
If you don't confirm and they install, you should be able to sue them for 1000 dollar per incident. BTW, on the spam lawsuits, who gets that 1000 dollars per email? certainly the people that got spammed don't get to claim it, so where and who gets it? |

Byte , Do you know if the porn emails you get without the subject title "Sexually Explicit" do they fall under the spam laws... I see from your Tag you live in Oakridge so apparently the state law for spam will be valid for the two of us... (Live in Middle, TN)... The amount I get will make me a millionaire in 2 months.
And for anyone out there please give us links to state laws of that nature... Cause i have itching to be rich.... Hehhehe ... Spammers Deserve It.

Are you running tea timer? I'm a little curious (and potentially nervous) if it was able to install around that as well.
