Save time - Download the Internet NOW!
Lately it seems that everybody is "getting online" and "surfing the web." Never before has technology allowed so much information to be accessible to everybody at one time. Though more often than not, the majority of your time online is spent waiting. Waiting for pages to load and files to transfer. It is estimated that in America, several billion hours were wasted last year, as people waited for web sites to load.
The waiting must stop. At last we have created the final solution. Our programmers and surfers here at onzin.nl have been working overtime to bring you a ONE TIME DOWNLOAD. At last you can have the entire internet on your hard drive, at your fingertips, any time, day or night. Download the Internet Have a look - it's harmless fun! |

I was previously writing the entire internet to CD, but it was taking too many disks so I have started putting it onto DVD instead because of the increased storage capacity on DVD-Rs. The price of the DVD writer was insignificant compared to the cost of the rental of 72,400 tractor-trailers that I use to transport the disks to my house.

I'm taking the external USB HD approach - trouble is, I'm running out of floor space for all the multiway sockets the HD's power supplies are plugged into. Apart from that, I see some difficulties ahead -
1. By the time I've downloaded the whole lot, it'll be out-of-date, and I'll have to start again. 2. It's a ZIP file, and I can't open and enjoy the contents until the d/l is complete. 3. I'll have downloaded all the sites my webfilter and popup stopper have been killing for the last few years. 4. I'll have a unique archive of all PCMech postings since the year dot. (eeuugh!) 5. It's taking so long to install these HD's I haven't got any time to do anything else. My health is suffering and I've begun to hear voices. 6. I'm beginning to doubt the wisdom of starting this project 7. I've forgotten what no.7 is. 8. There IS no number 8. |

Interesting...even if we could download the internet in a fraction of a second...a fraction of a second later the information would be out of date.
I wonder what that guy was selling or if it was bait for a website that loads, viruses, spyware, trojans etc?...I don't dare find out. Last edited by David M; 04-21-2005 at 10:43 PM. |
