Is Norton Antivirus getting ready to QUIT?

There is a rumor that is going on about Norton getting ready to quit antivirus software. (because soon XP will have its own built-in antivirus system) ( they were one of the worst anyway ) Did any one read an article about that ? Any solid information ?

No way they will quit making AV's, they make way too much money off that. XP will not have a AV built in, its just a virus remover that runs when you update windows (i think).

Nope, haven't heard a peep. Must be just a rumor a FOAF started.

FOAF?? And there's no way they'd quit, they've put too much infrastructure into it

One would have thought Microsoft would have assimilated Norton years ago.

Right on. And that's what makes it hard to pinpoint the source of a rumor.

"Oh, my neighbor's friend said that...blah blah blah"

I doubt Norton will quit the AV business, I saw a video report where they should rooms and rooms of computers testing for viruses.
