Almost passed out!

This is pretty sad.
I have session saver on firefox, and I have about 20 tabs saved on it. The other day, I opened two windows, closed the first, and then went to a site on the second window. Then I closed it. Opened firefox today, and the other site was there, and my 20 tabs were gone, replaced by that one site. I started breathing kind of fast, and felt really faint.

Luckily I got most of the sites back from history, I have about 15 open now, still missing five or so.

I never realized how important the internet was to me, I've got to do something.

Just toss all of those sites into a folder in your bookmarks. They when you want them, just go to that folder and click on "open in tabs" and voila... they are all open in seperate tabs and you don't have to stress about loosing them.

Just a sugestion.

heh, I've had a couple of those scares when I've had crashes with opera open. Sometimes the history was wiped out, so I had to retrieve the page addresses off of the pages stored in the disk cache. o_O

Yes, that's happened to me too. The Session Saver extension saves the tabs from the last window you close. Many times my wife has opened a window for streaming radio and closed that one last, erasing all my tabs. Usually, though, I only have five or six open at once, so it's not hard to get them back.

The strange thing is, I do get out quite often, just yesterday, when I discovered the lost tabs, i had come back from biking and baseball.

I cant believe I almost had a panic attack over lost sites.

And Stryker, thats what I was doing until I got session saver, its alot easier than taking 10 minutes to modify that folder every time I want to shut down firefox.

Aha! Sorry, I misunderstood what the extension was used for. I didn't realize it was "dynamically" storing your tabs and then recalling them when you re-opened FF.

I might have to try that, it sounds kinda cool!

I think I can name or search for anything I'm looking for. I have a ton of favorits and when I lose them it takes me about 10 min on Google.

It's happened to me before when I upgraded from MIE2 to Maxthon (new version, new name). I thought I lost everything. I was nowhere near passing out though. I did eventually figure it out and got it all working.

I just bookmark tabs in folders... click "bookmark this page" and select "bookmark all tabs in folders." Then open that folder in tabs when you start up. I have a folder that I place all of these in, it's called "Tab Stops," a sad little pun of mine, and whenever it gets ~10 entries I just delete a few of them by right clicking and selecting delete. It's really fast, and allows you to save your sessions for as long as you want.

In Maxthon I just click "Save current tabs as group" in the Groups menu and I can open that specific gorup of sites with one click. It's really handy. I also have hundereds of URL Aliases (custom keywords) for tons of sites. For example, Gamespot.com is "games", Newegg.com is "ne", TomsHardware.com is "toms", Webshots gallery is "pics", etc. That is one of the most handy features I have ever seen.

The big deal for me isn't that I lost the tabs. The big deal is that when I lost the tabs, I almost had a panic attack. I really think I might have a problem if I'm that attached to the computer and the internet that I start breathing hard and getting faint.
