Dog vs. Birds

I have never seen anything like this, so I thought I'd share it here. My sister has a Heinz 57 about the size of a German shepard. When the dog was a puppy, an adult bird attacked her in the back yard. Now that the dog is grown, it catches and eats 2 or three birds a day. She hates birds. If one flies into the yard, she will drop whatever she's doing and focus only on the bird. It will jump and catch them in flight; the dog will jump five feet in the air. The funny thing is, all the local birds harrass this dog. If she's laying down, they'll dive bomb her head from the rear. This really is one of the oddest situations I've ever seen.

I see Bluejays dive bomb cats regularly. Had one doing it to me once while up on a pole. It evidently had a nest close in the trees.

Weird that the birds go out of the way to go after the dog.

FYI - You do not have to worry about the dog eating the birds though. Dogs can eat raw bird bones (chicken for example) but not cooked. Cooking renders the bones brittle and dangerous to eat, but since dogs have not invewted fire this is no problem.

The dog gets worms all the time, probably from the birds.

My labradork will do the same thing with both birds and squirrels and yet they still seem to attack her....must be some kinda game where the dog wins most of the time.

"Heinz 57"? Isn't that steak sauce? Is that a breed of dog too?

A Hintz57 is a breed that is a result of a neighborhood indiscretion.

Ahhh...okay...it's a mutt (or as they're called locally, "poi-dogs"). Just never heard that term before.

I have a Jac-Rat. He is so fast that he can catch almost anything on 4 legs... The funny part is all he does he run up behind stuff and sniff its butt.

Not alot funnier than watching a dumb dog chase a rabbit in circles in the yard sniffing its rear.
