![]() That case obviously appeals to SOMEONE or they wouldn't be selling it anymore. There are folks with some pretty odd preferences out there.

I would still rather buy a regular/mid-range case and spend the $$ I save on components that will actually improve performance. Just too rich for my blood... at least for a case anyway.

Expensive and horrendous looking I think. Could possibly turn it into a kool AvP themed case, but it would take alot of work. I dont like the case that look super plasticy and molded.

I don't mind it, and I could see why people might like it... personally, I'm not really into buying fancy looking cases though.
I think what Lamilia did was type the name of the case as the site, if you look at the link it opens it says http://asus vento 3600 green ![]() Easy mistake to make if so |

I'm perfectly happy with my $50 Enlight case (that I actually got for nothing) - I don't look at it, it's under the desk. As long as I can reach the CD and floppy drives, that's all that matters to me. It's a pleasure to work inside of because it's roomy and has a rail system and removable motherboard tray. All these fancy cases these days hurt my eyes.

I agree with that. All I want is a sturdy, roomy case that doesn't slice off my fingers when I'm in there. It's just a case! It's not an artistic method of self-expression.

I suppose it depends on what you like. I want a case that looks good, and does a good job with airflow. Some people just want something that holds their components, but some people like something a little more extravagant.

While some people are fine with a plain beige case with no frills, other people wouldn't be caught dead using a plain beige case. They want something with windows, LEDs, cold cathodes, UV, etc... To them, a fancy case is a work of art and a way of expressing who they are. To each his own. Cricket

Of course, I see that there are others want to "express themselves" with a case. Me, I'm strictly utilitarian.

I love thermaltake tsunami. When my wife and I were in the process of moving like 6 months ago (she wasn't my wife then.. we were just engaged), I had a computer with a thermaltake tsunami case and we were in an apartment 2 storys up. Anyway i dropped it down the middle section of the stairs so it fell 2 storys down... i plugged everything in and it still works. Case has no dents or anything lol. Maybe i just got lucky or i bought a really good case.

Sounds like you forgot the #1 rule of moving: Never open the beer until after everthing is in the new house/apartment.

$30 case I go off of newegg a few months back. Looks just as good as a $60 case, not to mention is pretty sturdy.

I wouldn't say I want to express myself with a pretty case, I just like them over the plain cases. It just gives that extra wow factor when people walk in and say "Is that your case? Wow". I lived with a Packard Bell beige computer for 4 years, and right now I have a case from Jeantech which is black but still lacking in the looks department, but I just can't decide what to get, there are just too many designs!
*EDIT* I suppose you could compare cases with cars. Say you had a choice between a brand new sports car, or a car that looks like an old Volkswagen Polo but has all the performance of the sports car for a little less cash. Which would you choose? |

On the other hand, interms of cases, I like something classy. Nothing says you have a nice computer more than a sleek Cooler Master or Lian-Li case. Sure, they're expensive, but they make up for it in looks and construction. On the third hand, if you're on a budget, I will always recommend a $60 Antec case first, because then you can put the other cash towards performance. |

The way I see it if you are going to pay 1000+ for a nice gaming computer (or any computer really) you don't want some ugly old case Its kind of weird if you think about it you spend 300 on a video card but you can't spend $100+ on a case? I guess if you really don't like to show off and don't even want to look like you are showing off your case you could get a cheap one (heck if you are going to do that just go to a recycling center and get one of those old towers).
