internet in europe

hey uhmm... i got couple questions. In europe is the internet the same bandwidth? My ps can switch to 220 but my monitor can't soo i was wandering if there is a way to keep my monitor in europe?

You should be able to get a power adapter to change to the different plug and voltage for your monitor.

Make sure you get a power adapter that can handle the wattage of the monitor. Most power adapters sold for travel purposes have a 50 W limit or so. A larger adapter will be more expensive.

Ethernet NICs and wireless should work the same. Dialup modems depend on the phone network in place.

some Euro telephone lines have higher bandwidth than their US equivalents:

a T1 in the US is 1.54mbps, the equivalent line in Europe, called an E1, is 2.08mbps. So line for line, the Europeans have approx 25% more bandwidth than a provider in the US.

Europe is far ahead the US when it comes to overall broadband connection and costs...Bush has been pushing for this in both of his terms, but this initiative has not gotten a lot of play due to the war in Iraq and other, most journalistically juicy, tidbits..

I know this is a little off subject (im not trying to change it i just want a quick answer) but ...

I heard a while back that sbc was going to experiment with residential fibre optic lines that could do like 20mbs

Only difference I know of after reading many American books is the voltages are different and the type of phone sockets are different.
